Hi JL, check out Episode #4 where I talk a little bit about the time I am allocating to each phase. While I don’t really plan on taking a break between the first and second drafts, there will be more than enough time between Phase 3 – Manuscript First Draft and Phase 8 – Manuscript Second Draft, so that I should be seeing it with relatively new eyes.

I plan on doing my own internal editing during Phase 8, but hope to enlist the aid of some skilled editors in the gaming community who would be willing to donate their services for this cause.

    Looks legit.

I am curious, though – do you plan to take a break between the first and second drafts to approach your design with “fresh eyes” that maybe tweak the adventure or is the second draft more of an editorial tool?

I tried doing just this last year and stalled out very close to the finish line. I’ll be watching your progress here and hope to gain some motivation and knowledge as I cheer you on. If you’re interested, let me know and I’ll send a private link to what I have so far.

    Woot!

It’s the engineer in me. Always make it more complicated than it has to be.

No clue about publishing industry, so please whatever I say – take it with a grain of salt. But, from my point of view – this looks like a very structured approach, so Kudos to you. Me, being very chaotic, would never go more than step 3, maybe 4 if very, very lucky (and of course, I’d probably simply skip steps 1 and 2).

Keep up the good work and I’ll keep us with stupid comments 🙂
