Gulf War II – CBS Baghdad webcam: military moments 3

Back at the Pentagon, Washington D. C.

    U. S. Army Major General Stanley A. McChrystal, Vice Director for Operations, J-3, Joint Staff, Department of Defense, fields reporters questions after a U. S. tank

into the Palestine Hotel, killing reporters.

Victoria Clarke, U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs, said she regretted the deaths of the journalists but related that she’d repeatedly warned news media that ‘war is a dangerous, dangerous business.’

The reporters run out of the room at briefing’s end. McChrystal’s and Clarke’s words were still in the news headlines eighteen hours later.

    Press Conference Body Language.

I was most impressed by the range of body language

Generals Renuart and Brooks at Camp As Sayliyah, Doha, Qatar. Am I the only one who sees Brooks’ Spock to Renuart’s Kirk?

IMHO Gen’l Renuart has been the best presenter of all the military (and political) faces presented to us. Good use of the language, good sense of timing, could be a comedian.

“You have to be at least this tall to enter this ride.” Okay, maybe that’s not what the General said…

Return to the Pentagon, Washington D. C.

General McChrystal and Victoria Clarke answer questions about the aftermath of the war, about looting and such matters.

    All quiet until another briefing…
