    ……………………………………

1995 Gran Canaria: Porto Mogan is our next destination.

Driving around the island is a bit trying for me. I don’t know whether it’s that I don’t really like being in a car (as opposed to walking, boating, and flying) or that I don’t like being on someone else’s schedule and whim.

1995 Gran Canaria: Porto Mogan is a sheltered harbor ajoining a small town. It was drizzling when we arrived – in fact we’d been playing tag with a rainshower all day – and so our stroll from where we parked on the main drag was accompanied by lots of running tourists.

My clearest memory of today will certainly be standing in an intersection of two footpaths. I’m reminded of a line in the FORTRAN game Adventure: you are surrounded by maze of twisty little passages, all alike.
